Up, Up & Away

The rhythm of our daily journey begins with walking out of the town on the Lot river where we spent the night and climbing a rather steep hill. About halfway up the hill we stop at a vista point to look back on the town we have just left.

From there we continue walking through the rolling hills, farmland and small villages, stopping to visit the church and see the sights. If there is a patisserie we almost always stop for a treat. We try to rest our feet every 5-6 miles.

Our lunch includes bread, cheese, fruit and a piece of chocolate.

Then, we walk until we reach the Gite or Chambre de Hôte where we will spend the night, usually arriving between 4-4:30.

Showers and hand washing our laundry comes next. We usually have a couple of hours before dinner to work on our blog, make reservations for a few nights, talk with other pilgrims, and tour the town.

Dinner always begins at 7, with delicious french cuisine, wine and lively conversations.

Then it's off to bed after another wonderful day.

Special thanks for this post! Learning a bit about what your typical days are like really adds to the reading experience. And "another wonderful day".
