Resources

  • Lightfoot Guide to the Via Podiensis by Angelina Meya (very helpful when planning the trip. I have used it every day on my pilgrimage walk)
  • Miam Miam Dodo GR65 - Le Guide Chemin de Compostele
    Section 1: Le Puy-en-Velay / Cahors
    Section 2: Cohors / Roncevoux
(Title is French baby talk, "Eat Eat Sleep." Every pilgrim carries this book to find distances between villages and services available, such as tourist offices, restaurants, hotels, hostels-Gites, B&Bs-Chambre de Hotes, grocery stores, water closets, etc. We have referred to this daily to help choose lodgings.)
  • The Art of Pilgrimage by Phil Cousineau (I read this over my year of planning to walk the Camino. It helped me prepare emotionally)
  • A philosophy of Walking by Frederic Gos (easy read)
  • The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce (easy novel to read about a pilgrimage. )
  • God's Hotel - A Doctor, a Hospital, and a Pilgrimage to the Heart of Medicine
by Victoria Sweet (Interesting memoir which includes the author's experiences on the Pilgrimage route we walked)
  • Blogger Flogging, or how to get Blogger to play nice (under construction)
